Explaining "Black Friday"

I've heard this question from many lasses over the past days. Okay, ladies, here's what Black Friday means:

It's a retail SALES event, not a day of mourning. Accountants in the western nations traditionally use RED ink to indicate a loss or debit, while BLACK ink is used to show profits, okay?

"Black Friday" is the first shopping day after THANKSGIVING, which is always on a Thursday, so many workers and their families are off on this day, and it marks the beginning of the normal shopping experience for Christmas--which in the West is always on 25 December.

So, the concern about it being a day of mourning or similar unpleasant memory is...not false, but mistaken. If it helps at all, the western nations are also woefully ignorant of Russian/Slavic/Eastern European days of remembrance and holidays also. Most in America/England/western Europe have no idea there is another day to celebrate Christmas or New Year's day either. Only those who actually care about the "Slavic sphere" for lack of a good term bother to find out these dates.

That may be a good way to identify if YOUR particular man is worthy of YOU, by the way. If HE cares enough to even ask what dates are important to YOU, then there is a clear indication he cares about what you feel and hold important. Something to think about, is it not?
